Where Oh where..........

Has this week gone, its Friday and I just don't know where Mon -Thurs has disappeared too.
Firstly and MOST IMPORTANTLY - I want to say THANKYOU to EVERYONE who commented and who visited my blog after I showed you my Elizabethan pocket, WOW I was blown away with all your lovely comments and thankyou too to the newcomers to my blog who left me comments as well, I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit!!

Well I promised another finish for you to see, this one I finished stitching a couple of years ago now, but never got around to finishing. Its 'Busy Bee Sewing Case' by With My Needle (Ellen Chester). Its stitched on 32ct linen and I as always changed the coulours and used the Kaalund silk threads I have to stitch this.

This is the front of the Sewing Case

This is the inside and I lined it with a bee patterned fabric which I liked as I thought it was warm and bright.

This is the back of the case. I found I only had 5 little tiny bees and I really needed about 3 more, but I don't think it looks like they are missing.

Sorry Nicki - I never got to the Post Office with your exchange (the P.O. has taken away our little village one this week and I have to go 3 miles for the nearest one (difficult distance for a non driver to walk) now I will get there this coming week I promise.

Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Quaker exchange TO Simone

Simone emailed me tonight to say that she has received the quaker exchange that I stitched for her and that she liked it.

I stitched 2 designs from A quaker pattern book by Ellen Chester (With My needle), as the spring quaker them was green and purple.

I stitched it 1/1 on 28ct Waterlily fabric using Vikkie Clayton silk thread. I decided to finish it as a flatfoldas I felt the design suited that finishing style.

Well my holidays are drawing ever nearer just 2 more sleeps and we will be there LOL!! My cold hasn't seemed to have budged an inch but its not going to spoil my holiday, so when I get back I should have loads to show as I will probably have received the SBEBB Love of stitching exchange and the FGBB Biscornu exchange, plus pics of what I sent to my recipients and of course what I stitched when I was on holiday, I've picked 2 projects to take with me, one is a LHN and the other CCN!!

Plus today in the post I received my wonderful stash order from Mary Kathryn which I will share on my return, but its all great stuff!!

Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend and I'll see you all when I get back!!

This weeks finishes

My thanks to Yuko for designing such a pretty freebie and to
Vero for providing such wonderful instructions for making a mattress pinkeep. This is the 1st mattress pinkeep I have made and I'm pretty pleased with the results, I stitched this using DMC 816 on 36ct natural linen, I was going to x-stitch it but it looked too heavy for the result I wanted so I stitched it 1/1 as petit point.

My next stitching finish is by With My Needle - Busy Bee Sewing case, as you can see I have still to add the bees (didn't have enough so will have to order some), and do all the finishing. I changed everything thread wise, I did stitch it on 32ct Amsterdam Blue 2/2 but all the threads are those wonderful Kaalund Yarns silk threads I bought at Jaynes Attic stall at the show I went to last month and I used a gloriana silk for the tree and the wee cat. The writing is done in Finch (wonderful colours), her dress and flowers are stitched in Poinsetta and Jacaranda, the grass is in Moss and the skeps are Silky Oak, these threads are wonderful to use and have such wonderful names - they were made for knitting very fine work, but divideed they are the same weight as stitching yarn.

Bunnies in the Garden

Well its finally all put together my 'Bunnies in the Garden' by 'With my Needle' from Elegant Stitch, this was such a delight to do.

This is the inside which I trimmed using silk hand-dyed green ribbon and I used a cotton polka dot fabric I had in my fabric box.

This is the outside with my initial. I made very few changes to the colours apart from the blue (darker one) on the bluebirds. I wish I had changed the flower sprigs colour as I feel they are a bit insignificant against the bunny and the linen colour.
