The Pigeon has landed

Photobucket

Hooray the pigeon landed in the USA safe and sound and at Nancys' door today -
it even left her a couple of feathers from its journey (Just kidding the feathers are from Marks pheasants)

As I said in the previous post we were doing a redwork exchange and I know I know that the Mary Garry piece isn't strictly redwork, I just couldn't resist including it.

The hearts I have so admired when I've seen them on the French blogs I just wanted to give one a try, so Nancy got the first one I had ever made - they are so fun to do and I wanted to cover it in the fabrics that I used on the pinkeep and Mary Garry piece.

The pinkeep is a L'R de rien design and I stitched it on an unknown count of linen I think it may have been 30ct I'm not quite sure.

Its taken a week to get to her which isn't bad as it arrived a day after Nancys did to me (pics in the below posting of her wonderful exchange)
We have agreed to stitch another exchange this time for Christmas and it will be so much fun I know.
I posted Beckys exchange out this evening so if the post is the same she should get it next week (fingers crossed). I've yet to hear that Susans wish piece has arrived to her, I posted it at the same time as Nancy's so it should be there any day now.

Forgot to show....

...you the finish I completed before I finished the one for Mark.
This is a Mary Garry design - Arthur & Amelia, and is called the skating party, I've stitched this on 32ct champagne linen 1/1 using an assortment of different threads I have in my stash, and I have finished it as a pinkeep with a pocket in the back.
It was a real fun one to do.

I'm slowly getting on with my Stitchers Pocket and I am so pleased with how its turning out, I'm almost 1/2 way through it now.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Can't you tell the weather is changing, I have had to photograph this inside as its raining outside and very dull. I picked 'Sit and Sew' by Mary Garrys Sewing Cabin, I have loved this wee one for ages, and decided as the weather is so rotten I would stitch this one yesterday and I did the finishing yesterday too, it didn't take very long to do as you can see.

I am still trying to catch up with blogs and emails, I have a good excuse tho' I have been stitching all week, I have finished 3 of my exchanges, - sorry can't post pics yet, the first finish is the Redwork exchange and I will send that out tomorrow. I have finished the Autumn exchange and the Halloween exchange and done all the finishing on them I am really pleased with how they all look, but I'm afraid you'll all have to wait a bit to see them.

The other excuses I have, we were at a wedding not last weekend but the one before and that lasted the whole weekend I have some wonderful pics to show you but haven't sorted them out yet. The weekend gone was a bank holiday here and we went to a Hot Tub party at my friends on Friday after work - WOW I want one now they are wonderful things, and then on Saturday we went to a BBQ for Marks Golf society, in fact the whole weekend revolved around socialising.

I will catch up with blogs and everyone soon.....meanwhile enjoy the rest of your week.
