This is a little about me and my hobby which I am so passionate about at times, well all the time really.
CHS - Marriage Sampler
Yet another finish to be framed. This is by Carriage House Samplings and I have stitched it using DMC and its on 35ct Cream linen. This one I stitched over a couple of evenings after Mark and I parted, I found it very cathartic LOL!!
I have always liked this design, but I have re-named it from 'The Marriage Sampler' to 'The Breakup Sampler' As to me the verse is more of a timely reminder for the next time, not a verse for a wedding.
Fobbles 1st opening day for the Exhibition was great, around a hundred people visited throughout the day and all entry fees are going to Hospice at Home Charity, so ... if you are fancying a day in the Lake District, and fancy a wonderful exhibition then come and call in, you'll be very very welcome. Pictures will follow over the next few days!

That's very beautiful! :)
How beautiful it is! Amazing colours :)
Eek! Now I don't know if I can stitch this for the dude. Whenever I would tell him he was silly, he would say very seriously, "No I am not. I am sensible." This is the one I had started but left on a plane. I wanted to redo it, but if it's the breakup sampler...
This is wonderfully!! It is one of my favourite designes :) Great work.
Hugs,
Nina
Beautiful finish, Su!
You may recall Su I stitched this one to mark 40 years since meeting my DH. Great job! Maria S.
Be it a marriage sampler or a breakup sampler - it's beautiful! Don't you love the colors in this Su? I have to agree with you on the verse! Looking forward to your Fobbles photos.
I stitched this a few years ago in my choice of silks, but would like to do it again in the called-for fibers. Yours looks wonderful, and I think renaming it The Breakup Sampler is a great move! ;)
It's a good way to look at the ending and all the hope and anticipation of a new beginning when the time is right. Lots of {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
so beautiful, Su:) I love the colors :)
It's a lovely finish Su ;)
And I think your take on it is spot on! Well done you :)
That's a lovely design and I like the colours you used. Did you change any of the colours other than the linen? I have this design and now your colours have captivated me!
Glad to see your sense of humour is there to help you thru. Take care!
I think it's a great break-up sampler. A man of sense can be a very difficult thing to find indeed!
I do have to say I laugh when I read that verse. I love your finish of "the breakup sampler" :)
I like the re-named "Breakup Sampler" much better...LOL Frankly, I don't think any of them have any sense!!!!
Gorgeous colours! And the sampler is great, be it marriage or break-up :)
Love your finish, congrats. And yes this is definitely more of a caution statement rather than a celebration remark. Almost made it for my daughter but then it was to late. (oops probably shouldn't share that)CJ ok;-)
It's beautiful! Can't wait to see how you frame this. Your work is always so lovely!
Forget the wording, it's just a beautiful design in very pretty colours.
Oh Su, this is just lovely. I am going to have to find this pattern somewhere very soon and stitch it - the colors are so vibrant and I love the verse.
I am sad for you - breakups are always hard no matter the circumstances. I think your new name for it was apropos considering when you stitched it.
Cari
Its beautiful, such a lovely mix of colours.
Lovely work as always Su. Is there a 'man of sense'?!!
Su,
What a beautiful finish. I can imagine every thought that went through your mind as you stitched on this design. Did a great feeling of calm come over you when you put in the last stitch, I wonder :>)
Glad you had such a lovely day at Fobbles. Can't wait to see the pictures.
Hugs Angela
Beautiful finish Su...love that you named this the "break-up sampler". Love the colors!
Very lovely finish! Hooray for you. Huggles.
Great sampler Su, it's very apt.
Looking forward to seeing the photo's from Fobbles.
Beautiful finish, Su. You are so right...this isn't really a sentiment for a marriage celebration, is it?
Gorgeous finish Su ... I agree with you that it is not for a marriage celebration but I do love it anyway. Lots of Love Patti xxx
What a wonderful little sampler - I love the colours!!
Love from Austria
Hilda
It's stunning, Su, well done - it's one I'd like to stitch too, but leaving out the verse ;-)
Beautiful finish, Su. I imagine that it will bring back many bittersweet when you look at it over the coming years. {{{hugs}}}
