CHS - Marriage Sampler

Photobucket

Yet another finish to be framed. This is by Carriage House Samplings and I have stitched it using DMC and its on 35ct Cream linen. This one I stitched over a couple of evenings after Mark and I parted, I found it very cathartic LOL!!

I have always liked this design, but I have re-named it from 'The Marriage Sampler' to 'The Breakup Sampler' As to me the verse is more of a timely reminder for the next time, not a verse for a wedding.

Fobbles 1st opening day for the Exhibition was great, around a hundred people visited throughout the day and all entry fees are going to Hospice at Home Charity, so ... if you are fancying a day in the Lake District, and fancy a wonderful exhibition then come and call in, you'll be very very welcome. Pictures will follow over the next few days!

Eek! Now I don't know if I can stitch this for the dude. Whenever I would tell him he was silly, he would say very seriously, "No I am not. I am sensible." This is the one I had started but left on a plane. I wanted to redo it, but if it's the breakup sampler...

You may recall Su I stitched this one to mark 40 years since meeting my DH. Great job! Maria S.

Be it a marriage sampler or a breakup sampler - it's beautiful! Don't you love the colors in this Su? I have to agree with you on the verse! Looking forward to your Fobbles photos.

I stitched this a few years ago in my choice of silks, but would like to do it again in the called-for fibers. Yours looks wonderful, and I think renaming it The Breakup Sampler is a great move! ;)

It's a good way to look at the ending and all the hope and anticipation of a new beginning when the time is right. Lots of {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

That's a lovely design and I like the colours you used. Did you change any of the colours other than the linen? I have this design and now your colours have captivated me!

Glad to see your sense of humour is there to help you thru. Take care!

I think it's a great break-up sampler. A man of sense can be a very difficult thing to find indeed!

I do have to say I laugh when I read that verse. I love your finish of "the breakup sampler" :)

I like the re-named "Breakup Sampler" much better...LOL Frankly, I don't think any of them have any sense!!!!

Gorgeous colours! And the sampler is great, be it marriage or break-up :)

Love your finish, congrats. And yes this is definitely more of a caution statement rather than a celebration remark. Almost made it for my daughter but then it was to late. (oops probably shouldn't share that)CJ ok;-)

Oh Su, this is just lovely. I am going to have to find this pattern somewhere very soon and stitch it - the colors are so vibrant and I love the verse.

I am sad for you - breakups are always hard no matter the circumstances. I think your new name for it was apropos considering when you stitched it.

Su,
What a beautiful finish. I can imagine every thought that went through your mind as you stitched on this design. Did a great feeling of calm come over you when you put in the last stitch, I wonder :>)
Glad you had such a lovely day at Fobbles. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Beautiful finish, Su. You are so right...this isn't really a sentiment for a marriage celebration, is it?

Gorgeous finish Su ... I agree with you that it is not for a marriage celebration but I do love it anyway. Lots of Love Patti xxx
