My Hearts Garden

Photobucket

Another of my latest finishes - yet to be framed!! This one will go on my bedroom wall above or to the side of my bed as all my pictures in there are SB ones. I see this in a creamy white distressed frame, all delicate and pretty.

Its such a sweet little design and it is of course instantly recognisable as a Shepherds Bush, this one is called 'My Hearts Garden' I used all the silk colours and the fabric that was included in the kit, and it only took a couple of evenings to do, a real quicky!

PIF for Jessie

Jes emailed me today to say that she received my PIF that I sent to her.

Photobucket

I was starting to get a little nervous that it wasn't going to get there as I sent it at the same time as Edgards, but I am happy to say that it has arrived and that Jes really likes it.

The design is Shepherds Bush - 'A Rosey Fob' and I do believe it is now Out of Print.
Its stitched on 32ct linen and I used DMC threads. I made the tassle myself and added crystal beads to the top and the bottom. The little button in the centre is a MoP I bought from York lasat year at Duttons for Buttons (I just love that shop name LOL!)

Photobucket

More stitched projects including a picture (though not the most brilliant due to reflections) of Jens Red Snowman by Shepherds Bush

Photobucket

.... and this I have to admit was my very favourite quilt in the exhibition, which was made by Helen.

Hope that you enjoyed your quick visit, hopefully/maybe next year you might be able to attend in real life - We would love to see you there. Didn't the ladies make a wonderful job on setting it all up, it looked marvellous and the raising of funds (over £800 this year) for the Hospice at Home charity - which is what the exhibition was for.

CHS - Marriage Sampler

Photobucket

Yet another finish to be framed. This is by Carriage House Samplings and I have stitched it using DMC and its on 35ct Cream linen. This one I stitched over a couple of evenings after Mark and I parted, I found it very cathartic LOL!!

Photobucket

I have always liked this design, but I have re-named it from 'The Marriage Sampler' to 'The Breakup Sampler' As to me the verse is more of a timely reminder for the next time, not a verse for a wedding.

Fobbles 1st opening day for the Exhibition was great, around a hundred people visited throughout the day and all entry fees are going to Hospice at Home Charity, so ... if you are fancying a day in the Lake District, and fancy a wonderful exhibition then come and call in, you'll be very very welcome. Pictures will follow over the next few days!

Sail Away finished

Photobucket

I actually finished this a few weeks ago, but with everything thats been happening, I hadn't photographed it or anything, so now I have and here it is.

Photobucket

So here it is in its entirity, This was my 50th birthday gift from my friends, plus the mount to go with it - This one I think will be going to the framers - I seem to have a lot to frame lately LOL!

Photobucket

My PIF has arrived to......

.....Dear Edgar. I have just had an email from him, to tell me that it had arrived safe and sound and that he really liked it.

Photobucket

I chose to stitch one of Niky's wonderful designs, this one is called Lilac Basket. Its stitched on 32ct linen using DMC threads, after stitching I tea-dyed it all, including the perle cotton for the blanket stitch edging and for the centre X and also the backing fabric which I hoped would give it a more aged look. I was really pleased with the outcome especially as I had changed it as alway by adding the X and the blanket stitch, as I liked the look of that finish when I stitched something for my friend Barb a while ago and was loathe to part with it, but I knew I had stitched it for Edgar and so behaved myself and sent it off for him.

I seem to be having a few problems visiting some blogs - anyone else experiencing any, I can't get to Vonnas or Yuko's to name just a couple, they just throw me out, "is it something I said??" LOL!! - No I know its not, and I am sorry girls that I haven't been a visiting and leaving comments, I'll just have to email you instead!!

This weekend is Fobbles craft exhibition, it starts on Friday through to Saturday, I am really looking forward to it and Bev asked me to take pics so watch this space next week as I will have pictures LOL!!

Have a good week everyone, I'll post pics up later in the week of SB' Sail Away as its all finished - now to find the perfect frame for that one.

Abigail Colby - A Cheerful Mind

Photobucket

Well she is finished and I have loved every stitch within her, what a delightful sampler she has been to stitch its such a shame it has come to an end.

Photobucket

The verse I just love. My fabric choice was 40ct linen in White (I still can't decide whether to coffee spray the finished piece yet or not - what do you think?) and I have used WDW Pea Coat 1 over 2. The designer is 'Primitive Traditions'.

A Cheerful Mind looks much smaller on my pictures than it actually is she measures approx 14" x 12.5". Now to pick a frame and get her up on the wall, as this is the basis finish for the start of my sampler wall.

Yay its Friday

No stitchy pictures today, the weather when I got home from work was diabolical, Has our British summer finished?? I hope not, I can't show my lovely tan off if this weather keeps up. Luckily I managed to get into the garden yesterday evening after work and do the much needed weeding and grass cutting and edging it required before the rain started and I felt very accomplished once it was done.

Photobucket

I thought I would share with you the sweet peas I picked from the garden yesterday, which are sitting on my bedside table, in one of my favourite pressed glass jugs, if you look hard enough you can just make out my GORGEOUS new white bedding from Laura Ashley - Yes I splurged, and what a big splurge it was too, the bedding is like patchwork with different squares sewn together there is even a cross stitched part to it, so it was a must have for me (Well a girl needs something pretty doesn't she and especially as I have changed the bedroom about) I also treated myself to a 240count Egyptian cotton fitted sheet and oh my its soft, I can't wait to jump into bed tonight LOL!!

Well I will go back to my Abigail Colby sampler, not that much left to do on it really so I might have it done by the end of the weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend - 'chat soon'

Hugs

PIF from Staci

Photobucket

Last year I signed up for a PIF on Staci's blog and found myself in the lucky position of actually getting chosen to receive some of Staci's wonderful stitching.

Staci has sent me a wonderful floss fob tag and I just so LOVE it. The picture above is the front side can you se the wonderful little berries and musical notes

Photobucket

This is the back side of it, with the lovely house with its rose adornment - how did Staci know I love roses. The scissors and initial tag, were also from Staci. Thankyou so much again to both Barbara and Staci, these wonderful finishes arrived to me on some of my very low days and so they really brightened them up very much.

Today I have sent off my final 2 PIF's to Edgar and Jessie, hopefully they will arrive in the next week or so to their destinations and hopefully they will like what I chose to stitch for them.

Final Seasonal Exchange from Barbara

Photobucket

Isn't it lovely!!! This is the wonderful summer exchange piece I received from Barbara, this was our final seasonal exchange and I am sad to see it end as I have had as always a wonderful array of Barbara's wonderful stitching and finishing an I have so enjoyed it. Unfortunately I can't show you what I have stitched for her as its not quite finished yet,but I am rapidly catching up with myself over my PIF's and exchanges.

Barbara, handpainted the wooden box in a pinky red colour and has stitched a Mary Garry design for the top, as she knows how much I like MG. Inside the box, which I forgot to photograph was a wonderful thread winder with 2 houses on it, in rememberance of when we first met which was doing a neighbourhood RR, many many moons ago.

I had a lovely holiday and have come back with quite a tan which makes me look healthy and glowing LOL!! I am trying to get myself into a new sort of routine, which does involve lots and lots of stitching!! My sister Helen came over to visit just before I went away and has given me a new hairstyle which I love, getting your hair done always makes you feel so much better doesn't it!!

Thankyou again to you all for your continued visits and comments and emails, its been really nice to know that you are out there, and thankyou too to a couple of lovely ladies who have extended me invitations to visit, I was very overwhelmed by the lovely kind thoughts of you all.
