I'm Safe

Thankyou to all who have contacted me to ask if I'm safe and dry, this is just a quick post to let you all know that I am and so is my stash and Tasha LOL!! Its been very bad here, though not as much in my village as some of the other villages around Cumbria, the local rivers are in flood and local roads are very bad to get past on, some are closed.

Its been sad that a local policman was washed away when a bridge collapsed at Workington.

The little tributary stream that runs along the side of the footpath near my house is running incredibly high and with a lot of force I've never seen it like that before. The rain has stopped throughout today, but we are forecast more rain and 60mph winds again this evening and all weekend, they reckon we will get at least 10" of rain from tonight til Monday - I really hope not!! To keep with the water theme, I've made myself fish pie for tea tonight.

Hi Su, So pleased you are okay, we have had strong winds down south but because I have not watched the news lately I did not realise how bad it was for you up north. I say Roll on Spring.
Take care, Hazel (UK)

Keep safe and I hope things settle for Cumbria soon. It looks horrendous.

Su - so glad to hear you are ok - the news shows you are getting much worse weather than we are although it's pretty horrid down here.

So glad you are OK. :0)
Have been watching the news & it's terrible to see all those homes inundated & so very sad that the policeman lost his life. Hope the forecasters have got it wrong!

I was just reading on the internet news I follow how bad it is in England and Ireland with the rains and flooding. Glad to hear you are safe, have added the people of England to my prayer list, that in spite of the floods no more lives would be lost, so sad to see photos of all those flooded homes.

We have had similar rains and heavy
flooding here in Georgia, particularly in Atlanta. Be very
careful and do not drive through any water! We lost several folks
doing just that...
Stay dry and safe!

I heard about all the floodings in the UK yesterday night on TV. It must be so bad in some places. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.
Good to know that you are safe at your place.
