Holiday stitches

Here is the first of my holiday projects - I only ever take quickish things to stitch and it was no exception this time whilst we were away, and as I have been busy doing some finishing this week I thought I would do the finishing for this so its the first one to show.

Its by Bent Creek and its called Buzz - I have been itching to stitch this one since I got it ages ago, I have changed the colours as always to match the box I had and I used GAST Hyacith, and WDW Purple haze, plus for the flower centres I used a scrap of DMC from my scrap box it was the closest I could find to the pink on the box. Its stitched on 32ct vintage linen.

We have a new blogger and stitcher in our midst too, I found Michele by chance when she had visited my blog - Hello Michele - Michele is stitching away and has decided to blog too as she wants to help and inspire other brand new stitchers as well, as she has been loving the stitching she has found on other blogs and wants to learn to do it for herslef, so please if you've a minute pop over to her blog and give her a blogging welcome.

Hope all the UKers are having great Bank Holiday weekend and that your weather is significantly better than ours wherever you may be, I'll leave you with a photo of me and my MIL taken yesterday T-time at a golf society BBQ we were at - and yes it was raining and Yes we stayed outside all the time until we went home at 11pm.

August Bank Holiday who would have thought we would need fleeces, blankets and brollys, but oh it was ccccccold!!

FANTASTIC box Su , it really is super super :-))) Just calling in from my holiday to have a look, 45 minutes it has taken to get onto mine and your blogs with this dial up connection here!! I might not be back on till my return LOL and by the way your piccy is too funny BUT I could do with your blanket here, it's freezing and I've not brought socks LOL we had 23 degrees at home!! ... off to hunt a hot water bottle and leave this flicky screen ;-))

I always take stitching away with me on vacation, but *never* manage to get any done, so I send kudos to you for finishing something on your trip.

It looks cold at your golf outing, but it looks like you didn't let it dampen your spirits.

And me too, I would like to have some chill: here in Italy we are having high temperatures and very hot days!!!

Love your Buzzz box, Su (that sounds funny... hm.) I love this design and stitched it on Harmien's Funky Flower RR, but want to do it for myself too. Yep, Saturday looked the same over here. Hope Bank Holiday Monday is a bit sunnier, but according to the Beeb it should be :o)

Your box looks exquisite, and the colors are gorgeous. Sorry the weather wasn't the greatest for your bank holiday, but I'd gladly trade you right now. In Virginia its been very hot and humid, and I hate it. Much prefer cooler temperatures and even rain, better for cuddling up in a fuzzy blanket with a cup of tea.

We've had glorious weather up here in East Yorkshire all bank holiday weekend. We've had our fait share of rain here so it's nice to see some sun for a change:)

How fun that you got so much done while on vacation. I love taking projects along while I am away. I cannot live without some kind of needle and thread in hand.

I am late on remarking on this entry as I am behind on many blogs. The last weeks have been so busy for us but I had to say I love the photo of you and MIL outside with your cups of tea! How cute! I was happy it was a grey and cool summer myself although we did not have as much rain in Holland as you had in England. I am not a hot weather fan at all. And you are proof that no matter the weather, fun can be had by all. Just look at that photo!
